The new love of my life (shared by many other adults, and probably even greater numbers of children) is Harry Potter! I can't say enough good things about any of the four books so far in this series by JK Rowling. The adventure begins in "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," and continues with "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," then"Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban." "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" was not for the faint of heart! 734 pages! More of the same wonderful magic! This fall (2001) will bring not only the fifth book, but the Sorcerer's Stone movie in November!
Each book takes the reader along with Harry and his friends through a year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. It's like a 'A Wrinkle in Time' meets the Hardy Boys! I can't recommend the existing four books enough, and I'll be sure to pre-order the fifth!

Stewart O'Nan

The Works of Stewart O'Nan: One of my favorite authors in the last couple years. My favorite so far is 'A Prayer for the Dying,' but I haven't read them all yet! His books cover a wide range of subjects, over a wide range of time in history. Highly recommended, but they may make you think, instead of just helping to escape..
